‘A high raucous sound of thunderous drums and driving baselines that provides viscerally explosive indie rock & roll, coming through stadium-sized guitar riffs and powerful vocals.’

Columbia are based in Cardiff and have been together for about 3 years. The band was formed by school friends Ben (lead guitar) and Craig (vocals/rhythm guitar), who had been in a handful of other bands together and separately over the years. It wasn’t until they found drummer Chris, who was drumming for another band at the time, that things started to fall into place. The band had found their heartbeat and things started to begin to move forward for the band.

However, Chris decided to join the army. For the next 6 years, Ben and Craig played a handful of gigs with a variety of band members, but nothing quite felt right. The boys just had to play the waiting game. During this time, Craig continued to write songs. Throughout the years, the boys continued to keep in touch with each other.

When Chris left the army, the boys decided to get back into the practise rooms. In no time at all the sound came back and the new songs were sounding great. During the summer of 2020 and some easing of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the band were booked into the recording studio, to begin work on their debut album. The boys managed to record 4 songs during these sessions but just like the rest of the world, things were put on hold. During this time away from the studio the band decided to part ways with their bassist. After a couple of square pegs, the band finally got their man. Aron (Sten), an old school friend of Chris’ was on board.

Within a few months the boys were making positive sounds and the chemistry of the band was what they'd been searching for. It wasn't long before the boys were back in the recording studio, and things just felt right. During the recording the songs the band were recording were continually being shaped and changed into what the band believe is something very special. After a couple of intense sessions, the band had completed their debut album – Embrace the Chaos.

Since the completion of the album, the band since signed a management and PR contract with Moon Man Music PR. This is a very exciting development for the band, which has already seen them gain lots of new fans and recognition from music professionals both in the UK and Australia. The debut album is due for release early in the new year and 2022 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for the the band.

If you've ever listened to their music then you'll know. If you're just catching up...

get ready for something for special!
